Lea Morris is a singer/songwriter and choral composer whose accessible, uplifting songs draw rhythmic and thematic inspiration from her upbringing in the Southern Baptist church of the US – without being religious. She has a gift for excavating the spiritual from within the mundane and bringing joy wherever she shares her music.
Amanda West is a songwriter, community leader, music & creativity coach, mother, and ever-evolving human. After a lifetime devoted to music in many realms, Amanda founded The Covered Bridge Community Choir in 2022, as a response to the growing climate & global crises. This all-ages group sings medicine songs for resilience, hope and connection to support the rebirthing of ourselves into a more beautiful, sustainable world.

Mila Redwood is a Community Song Leader, Mother, and Founder of Sing for Joy in Canada, who pioneered an oral-tradition singing movement in Toronto and beyond. Mila uses song as a tool for building community, for restoring our sense of belonging and connection in a fragmented world. She is also a proud steward of the Singing Mamas movement in North America, paving the way for Community Singing to be implemented as a socially prescribed, therapeutic modality for postnatal and maternal mental health.

Maggie Wheeler is best known in the U.S and internationally for her work as an actress and most notably as the character of Janice on NBC’s hit series Friends. Maggie is a passionate singer, songwriter, choir director and workshop facilitator. Kaitie Ty Warren (she/they) has a background in theater, but found community singing in 2010, found her first mentor in Maggie Wheeler, and founded Living Room Choir in 2015 (East Bay CA). She is a part of the Ubuntu Choirs Network, writes songs, comic strips and books, and has developed vocal work for folks with Parkinson’s. She teaches private voice lessons upon request.

Heart Songs & Circle Songs is the co-creation of Heather Pierson and Bernice Martin. Heather is a full time music maker from New Hampshire. Bernice is a singer/songwriter, licensed massage therapist, and ordained community minister from Maine. Since 2018, together they have created and shared dozens of original songs and two songbooks, inspired by the power of song to connect, nourish, and heal.
Noe Venable is an ordained interfaith minister and healing practitioner; her mission is “co-regulation through singing together.” Through her community choruses and holistic music classes centering nature, Spirit and authentic connection, Noe has helped more than three thousand Bay Area women and families to sing more and feel better, finding belonging in warm community. Also a singer-songwriter, Noe’s original ethereal music for seekers has earned her an international following, as well as tours opening for Ani DiFranco, Dar Williams, and many more.

Katie Sontag (she/her) writes and teaches nourishing songs that celebrate self love and remind us that all feelings are welcome. At Katie’s song circles, you will laugh, cry, make new friends, and feel better than when you came. Her music has been described as “a big hug.”
Fehlya Ehrlander is a Full Voice coach and leads a weekly women’s singing group as well as seasonal events. She is a former Waldorf teacher and is presenting a singing session at the next WeCAN conference online. She lives in Olympia, WA with her musical family.
Sarina Partridge is a musician, song leader, educator, and activist in Minneapolis, Minnesota. She feels most alive when learning, creating, and sharing songs — especially songs that grow out of time spent in wild places. Sarina has a passion for connecting people with their creativity and with the community and uses singing as a modality to help folks develop a sense of wonder and belonging in this wild world around us.

Kate Munger founded the Threshold Choir 25 years ago and knows deep in her heart the power of song to effect change. She will be offering defiance in the form of spirited community singing on January 18 across the street from the Ferry Building in San Francisco and she welcomes all singers.
Betsy Rose is a life-long singer, songwriter, and community inspirer of song. For many years, she has led women’s song circles and musical retreats and organized public pop-up musical rallies in response to the issues of the times. Betsy’s music draws on decades of Buddhist and other spiritual paths, and her songs offer a real-world blend of the powerful and the prayerful, honoring our earth home and all beings.
